The Story

UNDERDOG: An Americana Love Story
Nicholas and Zane (George), two longtime friends and filmmakers, are thrilled when they receive an unexpected nomination for a prestigious film award in Raleigh, North Carolina. Eager to celebrate and with the promise of a few days of relaxation, they decide to make the most of it by setting out on a small road trip. What starts as a brief detour soon spirals into an unexpected epic adventure that spans 12,000 miles, 22 states, and stretches over an entire month.
As they drive across America, from town to town and city to city, Nicholas and Zane encounter a diverse array of people whose lives, struggles, and dreams leave a profound impact on them. Each person they meet leaves an indelible mark on their hearts, offering lessons on resilience, love, sacrifice, and the surprising ways in which people find meaning in their lives.
Underdog is a heartwarming story about friendship, self-realization, and the beautiful mess of being human. Through their adventure, Nicholas and Zane discover that the real prize was not the award they initially set out for, but the deeper understanding of who they are, and what truly makes humanity function: love, empathy, and the bonds that tie us all together.
